Music & Symbolic elements

The right piece of music can make you laugh, make you cry and transport you to another place and time. From entrance music to a live musician playing during your vows, a piece of music can lift a ceremony.

With a celebrant-led wedding ceremony, you can choose whatever music feels right for you as a couple, from a Pete Tong Ibiza classic to a live rendition of the Beatles Here Comes the Sun.

As with the whole ceremony, the music is about you, and we can discuss what you want to include, music that means a lot to you both.

Handfasting

This ceremony has its roots in Scotland, it’s a beautiful symbolic element that is a real visual spectacle.

It is a beautiful way of involving guests, family members can tie knots, symbolising your strong bond, your new united family unit.

The fasting threads can be made in any colour and taken home, after the wedding, so you have a permanent visual reminder of the special day.

If you are combining families, a sand ceremony is a perfect way to include children in the ceremony.

Sand from special beaches, your hometowns or holiday destinations is added to a jar, symbolising the joining of both your families.

Toasts

At a celebrant-led wedding ceremony, you can end the service with a toast. It could be a traditional champagne Margarita or a tequila shot. Whatever drink represents you and your guests the most. It’s a beautiful way to end the ceremony and get the party started.

Ring warming

This beautiful, simple, symbolic element involves passing your rings around the congregation so that everybody can “warm” the rings and bless them before you swap rings and make your commitment to each other.
